How am I going to participate in November writing month? Read more below!
In short, NaNoWriMo stands for National Novel Writing Month and was an organization that stood behind a challenge of writing a draft for a novel in just a month, which was November. The official challenge was 50.000 words in just one month.
Now there are many writing challenges in November, since the original NaNoWriMo has closed its doors in 2025 due to some controversy. However, many creative writers still see November as the novel writing month so other sites have adopted this challenge. Many of the sites also allows you to set your own goal instead of the strict 50.000 words goal.
So how do I going to participate?
I’m going to do my november writing challenge on World Anvil on their event called “NovelEmber” and I’m going to set my own goal since that is also allowed. So I will write a novella in 19.000 words. My goals for November is to finish the 19.000 words novella as a first draft. Maybe some major editing as well, but that’s optional.
I’m going to use Novlr.org and World Anvil to count words and work on this project.
